160-Hour K9 Basic Training Certification Course

The 160-Hour Basic K9 Handler Course is a specialized, four-week, 160-hour training program designed for law enforcement K9 teams, focusing on detection, handler skills, and operational deployment. 

Course Focus and Objectives

  • Detection Focus: The course specializes in odor detection, training teams in locating narcotics (typically marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine) in various environments.
  • Operational Scenarios: Training covers deployment in buildings, vehicles, luggage, mail packages, and open areas.
  • Handler Development: The course aims to develop new handler skills and provide refresher training for experienced handlers with new canine partners.
